In perioada 1-4 iulie in orasul Rankweil, Austria, debuteaza concursul Atlantic Challenge Cup, intre echipele de juniori ale Europei si SUA. Se va juca Bila 9, primul la 11, cu bila 9 pe punct si regula celor 3 bile la spargere, shot clock 35 sec.
Fiecare echipa este formata din 6 membri (4 baieti si 2 fete) astfel, Europa este reprezentata de: Raphael Wahl (GER), Patryk Statkiewicz (POL), Maxim Dudanets (RUS), Daniel Tangudd (SWE), Kristina Tkach (RUS), Marharyta Fefilava (BLR); SUA este reprezentata de: Tyler Brandom, Nick Evans, Drake Niepoetter, Josh Franklin, April Larson, Taylor Hansen.
Desi initial anuntat pentru echipa Europei, germanul Joshua Filler a fost scos din concurs de catre Uniunea germana de biliard. Dupa cum afirma surse neoficiale, motivul retragerii lui Filler a fost faptul ca acesta a trisat la campionatul german de bila 9 pentru juniori si anume, aranja intentionat bilele intr-un anumit mod, astfel incat dupa spargere sa ramana mai mereu cu combinatie usoara la bila 9 (i-a reusit de 5 ori), motiv pentru care a fost discalificat din campionat.
